The timer goes into his "quick turns" version when one of the players is AFK and has spend an entire turn without doing anything. It should disappear once you've shown that you're active... but it looks like yours didn't.
I will forward the bug to see if there's something to fix on this front.

Couldn't play cards after a reconnect

After a short dissconnect, the game reconnected, but I couldn't play any cards and the next turn the turn was 10 seconds shorter

It probably thought I was AFK, since the game wouldn't let me play cards for a whole turn, and the server didn't know.
I can confirm on PC I'm still enountering the exact same issue. Never had a problem on the mobile app.
